I photograph not to show you what I saw, but to show you how I looked so I could see. If, for a moment, you begin to notice the overlooked in your own life—the geometry of a staircase, the conversation at a market stall, the personality in a harbor viewer, or the quiet changes that time brings to a familiar place—then the photograph has done its work.
